Condemned Animal Policy & Fees
Once an animal has been presented for inspection it cannot be revoked from inspection. If an animal is showing signs of illness, the inspector may retain the animal, take samples to send to a lab for further testing to verify wholesomeness. If an animal is not fit for human consumption, by law, it is condemned and we are required to dispose of it under the supervision of a food safety inspector. The cost incurred in this process is slaughter and rendering fees.
Slaughter fees will apply + a $75 per carcass rendering fee
Please ask for further details and clarity in these scenarios. We hate when we end up in these situations, but it happens.
